Hearts 4 Minds To Unveils New Mural At Jacksonville University Brooks Rehabilitation College Of Healthcare Sciences

JACKSONVILLE, Fla, August 21, 2024 - Hearts 4 Minds, a Jacksonville-based nonprofit dedicated to breaking the stigma of mental health, is excited to unveil a new mural at the Jacksonville University Brooks Rehabilitation College of Healthcare Sciences.

This mural is part of the organization's Murals with Meaning initiative which promotes mental health awareness and shares valuable resources to those struggling with mental illness, all while enhancing the Jacksonville community. Each mural showcases the dragonfly symbol of courage, strength and change, and includes a QR code visitors can scan that connects them to available mental health resources.

The mural, created by renowned artist David Nackashi, is a powerful visual representation of the importance of mental health. Through its vibrant colors and thought-provoking imagery, the mural serves as a catalyst for conversations about mental well-being and encourages individuals to seek help when needed.

This mural is more than just art; it's a symbol of hope and resilience,”  said Sheryl Johnson, founder of Hearts 4 Minds. “We believe that by raising awareness and providing resources, we can create a more compassionate and supportive community for everyone.”

The mural reveal takes place at the Jacksonville University Brooks Rehabilitation College of Healthcare Sciences on the campus of Jacksonville University on Thursday, August 22 at 9 am, with the ribbon cutting ceremony taking place at 9:15 am.
