#Lime4Life
What is #Lime4Life?
May is Mental Health Awareness Month, and to show our support for those living with mental health issues, as well as their caretakers, we created the Lime 4 Life campaign.
By encouraging others to share their own experiences, we hope to reduce the stigma surrounding mental illness, promote access to education and resources, and let individuals in need know it’s OK to ask for help! And one way to spread the word — and the love—is by blanketing your social media channels in LIME GREEN!
Closely associated with security, renewal and growth, green is the international symbol of mental health awareness. Lime green takes the symbolism a step further representing confidence and excitement, while also having a more energizing effect than other shades.
We encourage you to join us in our Lime 4 Life campaign and show your support for mental health awareness by:
Sharing your own personal stories related to mental health.
Encouraging others to share their mental health experiences.
Whether you use the Lime 4 Life graphics or your own image, a supportive phrase (“I share this graphic to show my support for all my friends and family that struggle with mental health …) or your own experience, the goal is to get people to share their stories. It’s only through sharing our stories and normalizing conversations about mental health that we can see we are not alone in our feelings and experiences and see help is available and accessible to everyone. Many of us don’t realize the power of our words and the effect they can have on people we may never meet. Your post could be the difference between someone struggling with mental health issues in silence and feeling comfortable enough to reach out and ask for help.
Share your story!

Our Goal: Get People Talking
Mental health is something that affects everyone in one way or another, but getting people to actually talk about it is another story. And that needs to change. Mental health IS health and shedding light on mental illness can help lessen the stigma, enabling individuals to share their stories and realize it’s OK to ask for help.
About Hearts 4 Minds
There is a large stigma surrounding mental illness. People are scared of being labeled “crazy” or “nuts,” and so avoid associating with the mentally ill. Hearts 4 Minds aims to change that by breaking down the stigma of mental illness and alter how we look at mental health. This is done through our initiatives, which aim to educate, encourage programs, raise awareness and establish and fund family-oriented programs that provide support, counseling and care for patients and families.
1 in 25
1 in 25 adults will experience a significant mental illness in their lifetime.
When these illnesses go undiagnosed, they can worsen and lead to further complications or even suicide. Sadly, these conditions are often treatable and curable, but people have to know and not be scared to get help.
This is why we need you.
Together we can raise awareness, break the stigma of mental illness, and improve care for the ones suffering.
