Jacksonville Business Journal: Historic Avondale is local nonprofit's site for fourth mural art
The beauty of art meets the wellness of mind in mural art renderings located throughout the city as part of a $100,000 Murals with Meaning initiative.
Hearts 4 Minds, Inc. is the local nonprofit that has spearheaded the project. The organization was established in 2018 by Sheryl and Todd Johnson following the death of their son Alex, who struggled with anxiety and depression.
The Johnsons have since dedicated themselves to leading the charge to break down the stigma of mental illness. The goals are to leverage an ounce of prevention, raise awareness and facilitate early identification and treatment.
